BASRA, Iraq (AFP) — The Iraqi port city of Basra, already prey to a nasty turf war between rival militia factions, has now been gripped by a new fear -- a giant badger stalking the streets by night.
Local farmers have caught and killed several of the beasts, but this has done nothing to dispel rumours of a bear-like monster that eats humans ..._____________________
The creature described in the article above is the Ratel, also known as the Honey Badger. The honey badger is adept at killing venomous snakes. It is also reputed to attack the scrotums of larger mammals if provoked, and to even castrate humans.
Remember, we have to fight them there, so we don't have to fight them here.

Can we buy those at the pet store yet? I want one!
Oh, look at that sweet sweet face!
I didn't know Cheney is visiting Basra this week ...
Whoa, you're a good crowd!
(insert rimshot here)
God bless America.
Additionally, I laughed out loud at Beth's comment.
I, for one, think it is a travesty that our troops are not being supplied with the most up-to-date scrotum protection available.
Do you know, as the article inferred - it could be a genetically engineered monstrosity with 'a monkeys head' - such creatures could wreak much havoc.
A slightly un-nerving but humorous post!
God help us if they start collaborating with our alligators.
Who knew all we had to do was release sports mascotts and prey upon superstitions to win this war.
Next up, foul mannered chipmunks.
Dang, Beth beat me to it!...
...actually, the badger looks like it has a slightly happier countenance.
