More reasons I love my family

When they're not leaving random images on the computer desktop, they're buying WW2-era magazines and leaving them for me to find on the dining room table when I wake up in the morning.

And those magazines are full of wonderful advertising like this.

I think that guy in the upper left corner is Crispin Glover's grandfather.

And don't forget Eraserhead in the upper right.

Saw Crispin Glover once. He presented an early cut of his film about the fornicating Downs kids and the slugs. Weird-ass movie. Weird-ass man.

The guy at the top left had his part carved with a chainsaw into his head and added 10w-40 to top off the new look.

On a side note: You mentined brewing your own beer on SZ-tcob. Have you got a story to go with that? Any help would be great.

Doc, we brewed really good beer back in the early 90's, a variety of ales and porters. We started with the book "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing" I think. We had a subscription to Zymurgy magazine for a year or two. We stopped after our second daughter was born, because it was too time-consuming. Wer'e thinking of trying it again.

Beth, I heard that was a real freakshow. He presented it here in Chicago last winter and I couldn't make it.

Splotchy, indeed.

Do you remember when Crispin Glover had his meltdown on the Letterman show? He physically threatened Letterman, and was, of course, physically removed from the set by security. He's a true weirdo.

Johnny, that's one of my all-time favorite pop culture moments ever! I posted a video of it a while back when I found it on YouTube.

I'd love my family if they did things like that. Unfortunately, they don't do things like that and therefore I don't love them.

I love magazines from the 50's and 60's and any anti-communist propaganda magazine from any decade.
