Mmmmm...

Can't afford that Standing Rib Roast for the holidays? Here's an entree with all the panache, at a fraction of the price!

Yes, it's a Wiener Tiara Bake, courtesy of Stitchy McYarnpants, craft Diva extraordinaire! Serve it up with some red Kool-aid and Jello salad, and it's a feast nobody could resist! The question is, what's for dessert?

What is that tying it together? Surgical tubing?

Is it edible surgical tubing?

Vikki, good guess, but they claim that it's "stuffing". I'm assuming generic stovetop, that tastes too strongly of celery.

Splotchy, why not? Other options are corn husks and leek tops. Even twine would do. Also, doesn't this need the little paper "hats" on the end of each wiener? I think that would push this dish to "10" on the festive meter.

So, folks, what's for dessert?

Weiner Tiara!!!! Ha! I'll add it to my repertoire.

I thought dessert would be the ambrosia salad that this was stuffed with, but I just found out that's not ambrosia.

So...

banana pudding with "nilla wafers and cool whip?

I like to imagine that the "stuffing" is kraut with cooked bacon bits. That's makes life all good. Dessert will have to include ice cream....some really good ice cream with something underneath it so that it's not just 100% REALLY GOOD ICE CREAM. After all, it's just weiners with kraut in the middle to start with.

Yep, I think my husband would drool over a dish like this...LOL.

I think for dessert we would just need lots more booze, like the gallons that were needed to wash this down in the first place. Nice find!

I totally want to make this! I've had a similar cassarole that was basically scalloped potatoes with hotdogs standing at attention around it. It was great because the bottom half of the hotdogs which were inside the cassarole dish were soggy and the parts sticking out were all crispy and verging on burnt.

For dessert we should have my famous wikki wikki cake which involves yellow cake mix, canned pineapple, canned manderin oranges and cool whip.

Finally a weiner tiara the whole world can enjoy.

The way they've photographed it, it looks like it's floating in some gingham parallel universe.

Hooray, a weiner fort!

Does it work w/ veggie dogs? I need to know.

Grant, the only way to know if it works with veggie dogs is to try it, then blog about it!

Lulu wins for best dessert suggestion! Cake mix, canned fruit and whipped topping - Midwestern heaven!

I am so making this with Vienna Beef. I think I'll substitute fat crinkle french fries or onion chips ala Super Dawg for the innards.

Yum. Now I'm really hungry.

Going with the Chicago theme, I'd do chocolate malts for dessert.

okay that actually looks pretty good I'd put potatoes salad in the middle and it would be fun to serve at parties.

I tried it once but it was in college, everyone was experimenting then.

Dcup, Katy, let us know how it turns out!

Dale, I'm glad you lived to tell the tale. Be careful out there!
