Rise and Shine!

Sorry for not stopping by and commenting on your blog; things continue at a furious pace around here, at home and especially at my job. At least we have a working shower again, and it's a darn fine one, too. The Las Vegas Marathon is next Sunday and I've barely prepared. My Elvis costume hangs in my closet, unpressed and unaltered. I promise that at some point before Christmas I'll return to our regular fare of freaks, perverts, clowns and animal attacks. Until then I'm just throwing up random videos and pictures in a desperate effort to hold on to some readership.

We've taken to listening to motivational speakers and inspirational music lately, just to keep us on track and moving forward.

I'd like to share some of that, so here it is, my gift to you this Monday morning.

Check out these enthusiastic swanky bastards. They're playing "Powerhouse" and swinging it pretty hard, I'd say.

I think Swanky Bastard should be the name of MizBub's next drink.

You just don't see enough guys who dress and play like that anymore. That's what keeps me coming back.

Las Vegas Marathon? Is there 26 miles of strip or do you run out in the desert?!

Are you really going to wear the Elvis getup in a Marathon? I had trouble in just my running shorts!

Skylersdad, in all fairness I am only going to run the half marathon. I was registered for the full, but changed it a couple of weeks ago when I realized that I wasn't putting in enough mileage after running Chicago in October.

Getkristilove: the course goes up the strip, through downtown/under the Fremont Street canopy (by Vegas Vick) and then heads west into the suburbs, then back south to end at Mandalay Bay. The half course goes up the strip to downtown, then back south past all the stripclubs along Industrial. My understanding is that the old course from a few years ago was a straight shot from the desert back into the city--they bused the runners out to the start line.

Dr MVM, I'm thinking of buying my whole family matching outfits like that.

Lulu, that is a great idea!

That's pretty inspirational, I'd say.
