The compound is under construction. Gathering enough plywood, galvanized tin and used trailers takes time, not to mention stockpiling all the shotgun ammo, canned goods and bourbon.
About that photo on the top, isn't that the place where Shrub had his photo op. The one where he turned on the lights for ten minutes, told everyone how well the city of New Orleans was doing, then cut the generators and ran away?
Beckeye, Ten, Bubbles and Dale--you must go! I'll be down there again this summer to do some building, and if you want a REAL authentic taste (and smell) of New Orleans head down there when it's hot.
Erik, no, we didn't see him around, but we didn't spend much time on Bourbon Street on this trip.

jg, New Orleans is pretty damn seductive for some people--I liken her to that woman you just KNOW you shouldn't get involved with, but can't help yourself.
Bubs, I know what it means. I am a New Orleanias who has lived in exile for over 40 years, and I still miss living there terribly. At least, I'm only 65 miles away, so I can visit often.
