Pray for Bettie Page

News that makes me very sad:

I just learned that Bettie Page is hospitalized, in a coma, after suffering a heart attack. She had been hospitalized for pneumonia, and was about to be released from the hospital when she suffered the attack.

You can read about it here and here.

If you wonder why I love Bettie so much, watch this video. Toward the end of the video, once she's frolicking in the bubble bath, just look at her smile. She glows. She looks so honestly happy and playful.

And, like I said this time last year, Bettie Page saved Christmas for me.

On a purely coincidental note, when I do that dance before getting into the hot tub at my club, I usually wind up having the tub to myself!

She's such an icon without even wanting the attention or accolades.

I read about this the other day. Sad.

I wasn't even aware she was still with us

I'm in the same boat as G.T. I didn't know she was still around.

I'm not so sure I should watch her in the bath, ok, just once.

That is sad news. Betty Page always seems like she is just this big old goofy girl instead of a femme fatale - refreshing.

Oh how sad! I agree with Barbara, she seems like like a real girl, not a package.

The poor woman has gotten little or no breaks in her life. Here is a tip of the coffee cup to her health and recovery.

Prayers for Bettie Page. There's a title there.

I'm sending Bettie Page note cards out for the holidays, to people who dig her.

It's surprising she didn't get pneumonia back then. Couldn't they have added a little more water to that bath? It was all bubble.

And, not to make light. Very sad indeed.
