We only fall into a few of those categories...

That's what my bride said as we walked past this gentleman on Bourbon Street last night. At least we're not hypocrites.

This is a sign on a bus shelter at the corner of Saint Charles and Poydras, right in the Central Business District.

The parade shooting that wounded 7 people happened about a mile and a half upriver from where we watched the parade, and we didn't even hear about it until I talked to my mom later that night. Both the shooters are in custody, but since this is New Orleans who knows how long before they're out again. Not long enough. There was another shooting just after midnight, right in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. There were NOPD and State Police officers all over that area, too. We ate a late dinner at Remoulade and got the hell off Bourbon Street well before midnight. I'll put up some pictures of Bourbon Street later to show you what I'm talking about, but it was not a joyous scene. There was definitely a volatile edge to it, and we didn't want to be around when the cops started clearing it out. According to news accounts of both shootings, no one knows why they happened.

Did I mention that I don't go anywhere without a gun? I even bought a new, more secure, concealment holster specifically for this trip, and it's worked out really well so far.

I would have had to tell the guy with the sign, "Hey Buddy! I'm not a witch!"

And I am not sure what that nasty looking assault weapon is in the crime stoppers sign is, but I have a firm rule about never arguing with a banana clip.

Happiness is a warm gun, glad you're armed and ready!

Can you steal that guy's sign for me? It would look great in my entry way.

Regarding the sandwich guy, to quote the Grateful Dead, "I may be going to hell in a bucket/But at least I'm enjoying the ride..."

Glad to hear that the violence was far away from you.

I can't imagine even owning a gun, but then again, Cleveland isn't as sinful as New Orleans. We have a few fornicators and there's only been two or three cases witchcraft in the city since Nixon.

Holy crap. I fall into many of those categories and still probably manage to be a hypocrite at least half the time. Y'all need to stop slackin'.

Stay clear of that super thug Bobby Jindal, ya hear? He don't take Fed-er-al money, when he can roll tourists from up north.
