Land-o-Lulu: The End of Summer

Land-o-Lulu: The End of Summer

I read this a couple days ago; I've since passed it on to my daughters who are back in school, and I've returned once or twice to re-read the W.B. Yeats poem "The Wild Swans at Coole."

Lulu has much to recommend her: she's a fellow midwesterner, has a fabulous avatar, and has the proper respect for, and love of, the martini.

Thank you so much! I'm flattered!
I'm glad you like the blog and the poem.

I love your avatar too, I'm a fool for a man in a fez.

How old are your daughters? Did they like the poem?

14 and 17. Both homeschooled, the 17 year old has been taking classes at the community college and will have about 45 hours by the time we print out a HS diploma and she "graduates"

The 14 year old just started HS this year. She especially liked your piece. They both like WB Yeats. The Irish thing and all.
