ILEETA Conference, Day 3: Look ma, I'm an armorer

I am now a certified Glock pistol armorer. That's how I spent my day--disassembling and reassembling Glock pistols, and learning fixes for common problems. So, uh, if any of you readers need a Glock pistol cleaned and inspected, or need any simple repairs done, let me know.

sorry I think guns should be restricted to you guys with a shield and military - so no guns to be fixed in my house - ever!

My husband unknowingly carried a glock around for several days. His boss left his briefcase in his car and inside the briefcase was a glock. Mr. Ten S drove around for several days not realizing what was in the case. He was a little disturbed when he found out. Needless to say, he didn't stay at that job for very long.

At the family Christmas party one year my cousin pulled her glock out of the back of her pants in the bathroom when she and I were hiding and gossiping. She tossed it casually on the counter and I completely freaked out.

She's a DEA agent and was on duty, and didn't want the gun in her purse with all of the kids around.

There was another family party where she and my Marine cousin were comparing weapons. Very weird.

I've always considered the name of the Glock funny-- I guess since it sounds like glockenspiel a musical instrument.

Glock is my own slang term for my glaucoma.

Like, "I put in eyedrops each day because I have 'The Glock'".

Chris, ouch. I'd say that's really funny except I'm sorry to hear you have glaucoma.

Johnny, the gun is named after the founder of the company, some Austrian dude. But it does sound funny.

Lulu, isn't that a strange phenomenon. I have to constantly remind myself around non-gun relatives and friends not to do stuff like that.

Ten, there wasn't a bag of coke in the briefcase with it, was there?

Katy, you bring up an interesting point. I've been doing a lot of thinking about guns these past few days, and I'm going to try and post something this weekend. Let me ask you, quickly:

Assuming there are something like 200 million guns in circulation in the United States, how would you go about restricting them to law enforcement and the military at this point?

Glock is a really purdy word.

The only way you could have a gun with a prettier name would be to called it a Clack or a Click.

Well, Uzi isn't a bad word, either, but it doesn't have the nice smooth chocolately-ness of the Glock.

I just had Ben and Jerry's ice cream, by the way. Perhaps I shouldn't mix it with blogging.

Splotchy, one of the vendors did give away a solid chocolate pistol.

You've given me an idea for a study--what's more edgy, alcohol or Ben & Jerry's-influenced blogging?

I don't know if B&J-influenced posting is "edgy" but it can make the keyboard a lot messier.
