Back in July I did a post about the Department of Veterans Affairs' refusal to allow pentacles to inscribed on military memorials or grave markers.
Well, here's an update:
The VA just settled a lawsuit and will now allow pentacles to be placed on the grave markers of Wiccan soldiers. There are eleven families currently waiting for grave markers with pentacles.
The pentacle now joins 38 other recognized symbols that may be placed on the graves of veterans.

Interesting. But this is the land of religious freedom ...
I noticed there's no agnostic symbol. I suppose they could just use a question mark.
Good god, I can't believe that was an issue. In my book you give your life for your country=you get whatever you want on your grave marker.

Chris, if I were an agnostic I'd go with the retro atomic atheist symbol.
Beth, clearly some religions are more free than others.
I agree with Johnny - they died for us there should not even be a discussion on what religious symbol to place on their markers.
its sad so that there had to be a lawsuit to allow it - I mean religious freedom was one of the reasons America came into existence!
