Five Random Questions, Ten Random Songs

Let's start with ten random songs:

Sake Rock—Martin Denny
Stupid and Shallow—The Futureheads
Worry Rock—Green Day
So Alive—Love and Rockets
Rock N Roll Suicide—David Bowie
Pirates—Gabby La La
le Contrebandier—Edith Piaf
Six Pack—Black Flag
Gypsy Eyes—Jimi Hendrix
Harlem Nocturne—Esquivel

The playlist is a little loopier than usual today. I was pleased to see Gabby La La turn up; she's my newest guilty pleasure, and I was listening to her with my youngest on our way to Amy Guth's lit-fest last night. You want jarring transitions? Edith Piaf to Black Flag--there is no smooth segue there, let me tell you.

Now, moving on to the five random questions...

The lovely Barbara at Bad Tempered Zombie tagged me and a few other lucky folks, asking us five questions:

1. You are on death row and about to order your final meal. What will it be?

Fried catfish, gumbo, greens, bread pudding and pecan pie for dessert, with a side of redemption.

2. Have you ever named your car? What kind of car and what did you name it?

No. I had a monkeyshit brown 1980 Mercury Monarch that my brother immediately referred to as "the hooptie" though. Does that count?

3. What are your top five desert island movies?

In no particular order:

Pulp Fiction
Young Frankenstein
Caddyshack
Touch of Evil
Casablanca

4. Who would win in a fight to the death, Harry Potter or Frodo Baggins?

**SPOILER ALERT** If he can kill Voldemort, he can kill that midget.

5. What is your stripper name? (The name of your first pet as your first name [plus the name of the first street you ever lived on as your last name)

Buford Oakdene. That paints a vivid picture, doesn't it?

I suppose I should come up with five random questions of my own now, and tag 5 of you lucky readers. Hmmm. I tag: Splotchy, Dr. Monkey Von Monkerstein, Johnny Yen, Some Guy and Doc.

1. You're stuck in a flesh-eating zombie apocalypse. Would you rather deal with Romero shambling zombies who are learning to use tools and weapons, or insensible but crazy fast Dawn of the Dead remake zombies? Compare and contrast.

2. Who's the first female cartoon or comic book character you had a crush on?

3. What makes your wife/girlfriend/significant other a saint in regards to her relationship with you?

4. Batman or James Bond?

5. If you could do anything in the world that you wanted to do (assuming you're not already doing it now) what would it be? For a living, for fun, whatever.

I'm looking forward to your answers.

Wow, fantastic answers to fantastic questions!

And I feel like I have been blessed. I have never heard the word "hooptie" before. You have made my day!

You s'might want to scramble your spoiler using my ROT13 encoder, other wise you might have some meanass muggles out for your blood.

Wonderful stripper name, though when we played it we always said it was the person's porn actor name (I'm Jones Park, by the way).

Love your questions, and will answer them as soon as I am able!

Oh my God! My stripper name is Tiger Hoover! I wonder what kind of message that sends...

You can generate your soap opera names in a similar way. Take your middle name as your first name and combine it with the name of the street you grew up on. It makes me Lorraine Ellenhurst. Fabulous.

Great answers, and thanks for the tag!

For the questions: is it to be Batman or James Bond, or who you think is better?

Johnny, it's up to you. I was thinking along the lines of either who's cooler, or who would you rather be...

Flannery, I love that! I'd be either Skiles Kenmore or Skiles Hoyne. Pretty cool.

Jones Park. Oh yeah...I think he appeared in several taint-themed films in the early 80's.

I’m not sure if I’m to answer the first or second set of questions, so I’ll hedge my bet and answer both.
1. Death Row meal- Ham, beans, cornbread with lots of real butter, 3 lbs. of bacon fried crisp, and eggs sunny side up, a New York strip medium well, and 3 cases of PBR. For dessert, I’ll have a carton of Marlboro mediums. Screw my health. I die at dawn.
2. Named car- I have never had a car with a name other than “piece of shit” but my brother drove a 1964? Ford Falcon named “The Death mobile”.
3. Island movies- Casablanca, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Bladerunner, Party Doll a Go-Go I and II (counts as one movie), History of the World part I. As I am a movie buff, this is a question I’ve struggled with most of my life, but Casablanca always makes the list.
4. I’d pull for Frodo, but I think Potter would have him hands down.
5. Stripper name- Sloan Hickman. Yeah, I know, real sexy.
6. Zombies- slow zombies of course. It gives me more time to reload the 12 gauge.
7. Hot Cartoon- Jessica Rabbit. (At least I didn’t say Bugs Bunny in drag)
8. Sainted Wife- She puts up with my dumb ass, and that is saying something. I know that sounds like a cheesy answer, but she won’t let me mention the other one.
9. Batman or Bond- Damn it Sir, you really do pick the tough questions! The other eight were easy compared to this one. I have based my whole moral code on the works of these two fictional characters. Who do I pick? The dark avenging angel of justice, or the cold-blooded killer for king and country? If I am forced to choose, I’ll say Bond. They both have great gadgets, but Bond gets more interesting tail.
10. What I want to do- I’m going to cop out (please forgive the phrase) and go the Thomas Jefferson route. I want to build my own vineyard, make my own wine, read my books, and write my stories, as I raise my two beautiful girls. Well, that, or porn star, you know, however it shakes out.

Dr. MVM, thanks, I'll be over to check it out.

Doc--thanks for providing the most detailed and entertaining comment I've seen. I like your answers! And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to look up Party Doll a Go Go
