Name that drink: Final Four

UPDATE:

THE POLL CLOSES IN 15 MINUTES. YOU ONLY HAVE A FEW MORE MINUTES TO MANIPULATE THE VOTE IN FAVOR OF YOUR FAVORITE DRINK NAME.

Thank you, thank you for all the swell suggestions and comments.

I was not able to act on this yesterday; I was selling my labor to corporate America and spent 12 hours looking snappy in a black suit, providing security for a convention downtown. Now I'm back, rested up, and MizBubs and I just reviewed our choices.

We decided that this calls for a poll. Here's the description of the drink one more time:

One 5.5 oz can of Kern's pear nectar
Juice of one lime
4 shots of coconut rum

The drink was remarkably sophisticated. Of course it reminded me of summer and sunshine, but not in an overly tropical drink kind of way. The pear nectar provided a rich mouth feel, and was a perfect vehicle for the lime. It was delicious, and MizBubs presented it simply, on the rocks, in a wine glass.

Vote early and often!

It's all about not having a drink name that makes you gag when you say it, Mr. "Cloudy Piss"

I'm sure it sounds quite lovely in French.

According to Babelfish:

pisse nuageuse

Okay, that's not so good either.

I'm honored to have made it in the final four.

I've missed most of the week since we were on our Ohio Tour visiting Tom's family with a finale at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yesterday.

Just have to ask - is it better to use high quality Rum and Coconut juice separately as opposed to the "Coconut Rum" stuff?? I'm sure Miz Bubs knows what she is doing and all, but just have to ask if this is being considered. Boy I've been craving a coconut drink lately...

I'm for Admiral Peary.

Beckeye, I notice the Admiral is gaining ground rapidly. Is this turning into a "bloginterview" type contest with multiple votes being cast? I hope so.

Laura, welcome home. For this drink, just the coconut rum was good. The actual coconut milk (she normally uses Coco Lopez) would have pushed the drink over into tiki territory. This was much more subtle than that.

Dr. MVM, as well you should be--it looks like your title is starting to run away with it.

Splotchy, maybe for our next cocktail we'll do a grenadine-based drink and you can call it a festering wound or something.

My competitive streak can't take this. I don't think I'll go with multiple votes to increase Wanton Embrace's popularity, but supporters can talk to me later regarding available Paypal transactions.

I'm going with Wanton Embrace, because it would be fun to order one in a bar.

Only in Chicago would a vote be this rigged. I don't hav enough dead cousins to win this one.

Hey, Bill from the south side bureau here.
I've been away and now the flippin net police at work are blocking the image links for the compound. Guess I just have to use my imagination.

r.e. pear nectar w/lime & coconut. I'm too late for the competition, but for me this is screaming to be named The Danny Partridge.

Or maybe "Cartridge in a Pear Tree" if you added a black licorice drop on a toothpick.

My official vote goes to Admiral Peary

I was going to go with Wanton Embrace with all this talk of pear 'necked her' but settle on the Peary.

Joe said...

Dale, you can vote for both. It's Cook County, we encourage that sort of thing here.

Bill, how are you guys doing? I've been meaning to call you guys. I like your Partridge idea.
