Post-holiday resonses to pre-holiday tags

Right around the same time Jin tagged me, I got hit with another one.

Tim Broderick, a really cool writer/artist who's a friend of Johnny Yen, tagged Johnny and I. Tim asked what movies we'd watch if it was just a dad's night--no mom around. You can see Mr. Yen's response here.

Depending on the time of night, and night of the week, we might just watch Metalocalypse on Adult Swim. The youngest votes for watching Eraserhead again, as soon as I replace the copy that got lost. The eldest votes for any awful exploitation movie that MizBubs wouldn't bother with. The final possibility would be to go with sentimental favorites from the girls' younger years: The Nightmare Before Christmas or Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Or Freaks.

I lack the will right now to tag others, but if you'd like to play, consider yourself tagged with either or both of these little exercises.

Enjoy your weekend!

Bubs- I just wanted to tell you that the comment you left on my Thanksgiving post was the greatest thing that anyone has ever said about anything I've ever written. I hope the kids got something out of it, and that you and the family had a wonderful holiday, but I'm certain you did. I've seen how you eat around your house and I know from past articles that Mizbub's family are a hoot. I hope the bourbon went down smooth.

Thanks again,
Doc

Oh, now you went and got me so hot-n-bothered that I'm not even going to chastise you for putting up Christmas decorations the day after Christmas.

Happy holiday season, turkey eating time, Bubs's.

My siblings and cousins and I all sat around exchanging bone spur and arthritis stories, then became absolutely HORRIFIED at ourselves! Next we'll be talking Ben Gay and fiber!

Hmmm, I wonder how your copy of Eraserhead got "lost"? I am assuming that you are in agreement that it is the most excruciatingly boring film ever made.

Not that I am accusing you of anything.

Barbara, I love Eraserhead, as do the kids. MizBubs might have been a suspect but she doesn't pull stunts like that. We think it was a friend of the kids who "borrowed" it.

Erik, yes. This has been strange year that way.

MnMom, it's funny--on any given morning with the running club I belong to, you have a collection of runners ages 25-55, mostly in the 30-40 range, fit people, and to hear them discuss their litany of injuries and ailments you'd think you were in a nursing home.

Frieda, please don't judge me. It's now Sunday and we haven't gotten them up yet.

Doc, you ARE welcome.

Well, I meant the day after Thanksgiving anyway and it's really more that I'm jealous that you don't string your kids along, acting like you don't care (when they obviously do), because you're too lazy go to all the trouble. (Or, I am jealous because you are a more efficient brand of lazy and you know you'll have to do it anyways and you get it done and don't have to deal with all that complaining and begging.)

"Darling, Mommy thinks Christmas is a crock of shit holiday branded by corporations for profits and Santa is just a big lie. Sorry."

(Maybe if I get that out of my system, I won't say it out loud.)

Oh. oh. I feel a "bah humbug" coming on.
