Satisfying

You know what's satisfying?

Let's say you're investigating an aggravated battery, and you've got your main offender in custody. You get your second offender identified pretty quickly, and you decide to grab a bite to eat at your local taco stand before driving the first offender to the juvenile detention center.

The satisfying part comes when, just a few minutes after you've finished your meal, your second offender walks into the restaurant with his mom, uncle, older brother and younger sisters.

The even more satisfying part comes when mom, who insists on coming into the station with you and sitting right with junior as he's interviewed, allows her kid to make a written statement outlining his role in the beating. And then you get to drive two little rat bastard gang members to jail at the same time.

You done good Bubs- real good!

Amazing - people really are stupid sometimes, aren't they?

BTW, I saw the title of this post in my reader and thought "oooh! more polaroids."

Cool, "Cop Heaven!"

Of course it helps you have all the perps in the same burg ; )

Definitley a good feeling.

And to have a parent that actually lets you do your job??? And doesn't say her precious angel didn't do it! Amazing in this day and age.

Oh, you had to have made this all up!

Randal Graves, everything I say on this blog is true. Even when I'm making it up.

Marni, it sure surprised me. What was funny was mom actually said as we walked back into the office "his lawyer said never to leave him alone with the police". She never asked to contact a lawyer after we read him his rights. Heh.

Cormac, actually this kid lives about 5 suburbs away. We thought he still lived in the neighboring town, and would have had a pretty hard time locating him.

Mn, it was a nice evening, thanks.

Fran, sorry to disappoint. That was the sensation you experienced, right? Disappointment?

Great! It's just another step towards world peace but wouldn't it be nice if they were all so easy.

Very nice! I just wish I had the authority to do the same with the little gangster teen that lives next door to me.

I wonder if now would be a good time for you to play the lottery. Man, talk about your good days. The icing on this cake would have to have media present to do a perp walk to see your smiling mug escorting them to the paddy wagon.

To quote Hannibal from the "A-Team": "I love it when a plan comes together!"

And exactly how does one end this meal?

Coffee or ice wine?

Bubbsie, Seriously? That happened?

OMG -- You're hilarious and quite an exceptional officer of the law, my dear.

What a great day and you didn't have to go hungry. This warms my Yiddisha heart.
