Damn glad to be one of 'em...

Take a couple minutes, pour yourself a nice stiff drink and treat yourself to a great speech...

That was great. I've always been grateful for public servants like you and Joe Friday. It IS a thankless job, and you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. But I'm sure glad you are there when I dial 911. So thank you from me.

For what it's worth Bubs, every time I hear a siren, I say a little prayer, "God bless those with helping hands" and the kids have started to repeat it too.

I've got family in law enforcement and I think of them when that siren wails and hope that where ever they are headed, that everything turns out alright, that justice is served, someone is helped, and that no little kid goes to bed wondering if Daddy is going to okay.

May an angel dog your footsteps for all the days of your life.

So no smarmy comments about the fuzz and/or heat are welcome here, copper? ;-)

I don't have the patience for dealing with idiots that come into the library, so I can't even fathom doing your job.

Outstanding speech Bubs, it should be required listening for all.

Bubs, that says a hell of a lot and I'll bet you can relate 100%. It makes me feel great that someone like you is out there doing the job. I have a friend right there in Illinois that is in law enforcement, too. He has been front line on some high profile, national news cases. Thing is, I wish you or he were the ones that came to my house when I needed help during my divorce. Yeah, it was small time crap - but it was our lives.

You know how some guys respond to the job, right?

In my work, if there's an asshole... big deal! Your job, BIG deal.

Speaks to the importance and value of your work.

Thanks, Bubs!
