Weird and Occult Miscellany

This might be a good name for future features here at the Compound.

Weird and Occult Miscellany was published by a Brit named Gerald G. Swan. Swan was an enterprising fellow who stockpiled paper before WWII, and was one of the few publishers in Great Britain who was able to keep turning out material when paper was rationed during the war.

And they probably laughed at him for his massive paper piles.

That clinches it, I'm saving all my Canadian Tire flyers.

So "Pulp" fiction is a double entendre?

I love that print! I would totally frame and hang that in my home. And hey, at least they had some good reading during the war.

When Peter Lawford died twenty years ago, it occurred to me that this day would come eventually.

When the remake of Ocean's Eleven came out, a lot of the reviews said something to the effect of "why a remake of a movie that was bad to begin with?" I couldn't disagree more-- I loved the original, and loved the Rat Pack.

Henry Silva and Shirley Maclaine were considered associate Rat Packers. I guess as long as we've got them, the Rat Pack still lives, in a way.
