What is it?

More like, WTF is it?

What is it? is the title of a new film by Crispin Hellion Glover. This is the plot, according to Mr. Glover:

"Being the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are snails, salt, a pipe, and how to get home, as tormented by a hubristic fascist inner psyche."

The cast is largely composed of actors with Downs Syndrome. You can click here to watch the trailer.

Crispin is showing the film at a few choice venues around the country, including the Music Box here in Chicago on November 17 and 18. It's being billed as "An Evening With Crispin Hellion Glover" and includes a Q&A, the "Big Slide Show" and concludes with a screening of Werner Herzog's Even Dwarves Started Small.

I can't wait.

Um ... my former beloved and I saw a cut of this -- presented by Crispin -- in about 2000 or 2001. Just be prepared.

I'm guessing he had to trick the Downs kids into being in it with him. Yikes. I'm ascared pa.

Oh, I'm prepared all right. This was going to be a fun Bubs family outing until I saw the "no one under 18 admitted" bit. My 14 year old is managing to cope; now my eldest feels cheated and wants to try and sneak in anyway. I'm not sure I want to see this thing with my daughters now. MizBubs saw the Downs Syndrome actors and now wants nothing to do with it and says it's just...wrong...somehow.

I read that it's not ever going to be on DVD either; Glover just wants to present it as part of his travelling freakshow of the mind.

That man is frightning just all by himself.

What you have done is make me miss Chicago even more.

You should drive in for the event. The way it looks now is that it's me and Nora going.
