"You've Got Gas!"

Your label is hilarious. I'm really glad things were never like this in the first place at my house. We were not forced to stand facing our siblings and eat our sandwiches.

I did enjoy hearing about my favourite accessory food, potato chips though.

You deserve some sort of award for consistantly finding the the most useful clips. I vow to be a better young homemaker so that one day, I too can appear on a gas company informative video. Perhaps I will demonstrate how to add Kraft Miracle Whip to everything. It's not just the exclusive domain of picnics anymore.

Barbara, if you did that you'd be Paula Dean.

Dale, thank you! I love picking up new phrases like "accessory food" and "cheese of an easy melting type." I know what you mean about facing your siblings--that would've resulted in fisticuffs at my house.

Katy, I have always sought to educate, not merely incarcerate.

Thise wise young homemaker would never mkae that. The idea of hot tuna makes me a little queasy. The proper way to make a tuna melt is to make tuna salad, get it really cold and then put it on toasted English muffins, cover with sharp chedder and put under the broiler, so that the cheese is melted and the tuna salad is still cold.

I think that all women who grew up in that era hare great believers in the aesthetic value of parsley; my mother and my aunt pretty much cover every platter with it.

Lu, we await your own video.

I too am a beliver in the use of Tabasco for a touch of color and a taste surprise, though I take issue with the narrator's statement that potato chips make entertaining more fun only for teenagers. I think Dale may be well beyond his teen years, yet they remain his favorite entertaining accessory.

Keep these old films comin'!
